Interesting Emerging Meaning for “The Son of Man shall be lifted up.”

Like most of what Jesus said, this is literally true if speaking from within a metaphoric frame. It has to do with how subconscious imagery correlates to and affects our behavior/being. Every time we picture a family tree, we somehow picture our family grinding into the ground. We picture Grandma and Grandpa, both of them, atop the family tree. Next, we picture Mom and Dad, then we picture, at the bottom with little room to grow, son and daughter. You see, that image affects our understanding and… It’s wrong.

What’s right, you ask. Well, think of Simba on Pride Rock. The son OR DAUGHTER must be lifted up, conceptually, and we will avoid a whole host of imaginary obstacles in our decision-making. This is the understanding of the mistaken knowledge of the tree of life. In case you’re unclear or have a hard time looking in the mirror, the “Knowledge of Good and Evil,” from Genesis is clearly about the complete and total lack of ability, on humans’ part, to determine which is which. Namaste. Sadly, we rarely consider that.
